At its CapCut World event in Los Angeles, CapCut, which reports more than 700 million monthly users, unveiled a ChatGPT plugin coming in the next few months. Users will be able to shape an idea in ChatGPT, let CapCut assemble a first cut, and refine it by chatting, such as extending a shot or lowering music under voiceover. Manual timeline edits are understood by the conversation too.
CapCut also introduced EditPilot on desktop for natural-language edits of complex or repetitive tasks, plus more image, video and audio generation on web and an AI Lab in the mobile app that turns photos and clips into vlogs or recaps.
For sports social teams, this could speed up matchday recaps, player highlight packages and behind-the-scenes edits, especially for smaller clubs with limited staff. The tool lowers production effort, but storytelling and editorial judgment will still separate standout club content from the rest.
