Meta credits AI ad ranking upgrades for higher clicks and conversions on Facebook

Meta has outlined how AI improvements to its ad delivery are lifting results. The company said ranking upgrades in Q2 2026 brought 8.3% more ad clicks and a 15.7% rise in conversions on Facebook. It pointed to its Andromeda ranking system, the GEM recommendation model and GenRecs, which can now weigh more signals and predict relevance even for new ads with little engagement history.

Meta also reported that partnership ads, which let brands run campaigns with creators and partners, grew more than 97% year over year in Q3 and passed a $15 billion annual revenue run-rate. Its AI business assistant is reportedly delivering 5% more conversions at the same cost, and checkout options are being built into its AI agents, including Muse.

For clubs, leagues and athletes, the message is that Meta's systems increasingly reward broad targeting and fresh creative, so teams selling tickets, kits or memberships can lean on automation rather than narrow audiences. The surge in partnership ads is a strong signal for sponsorship activation: pairing sponsors with players or creator accounts in co-branded ads can extend reach and give partners measurable conversion results.

Facebook tests charging Pages to post links beyond a small monthly quota

Facebook is testing a cap on how many link posts a Page can publish. Some Pages are now limited to two link posts per month, after which a prompt invites them to subscribe through Meta One: $50 a month for eight links, $150 for 20, or $500 for unlimited. Links to compatible affiliates, Creator Storefront and Meta products remain unrestricted. Meta calls it a test, though it has reportedly reached nonprofit and library Pages that were meant to be exempt.

For clubs and leagues that push fans from Facebook to ticketing, shop or news pages, this signals that outbound traffic is getting more expensive. Social teams should audit how much web traffic Facebook really drives and reserve link posts for high-value moments like ticket drops or kit launches.

Meta Ads Manager adds Breakdown tool showing performance of individual ad creative elements

Meta has introduced a Breakdown option in Ads Manager that reports how each component of an ad performs. Advertisers can see results for individual images and videos delivered as single media, as well as for each text variation. There are limits: ads using multi-post displays such as collection or carousel formats are excluded, and some custom conversion actions like Donate and Subscribe are not covered.

For club and league marketing teams running paid campaigns for ticketing, memberships or merchandise, this makes creative testing far more precise. Instead of judging an ad as a whole, teams can identify whether a matchday highlight clip outperforms a player portrait, or which caption angle drives more action, and feed those learnings into both paid and organic content planning.

Facebook launches 'Your Algorithm' letting users tell the feed what they want

Facebook has introduced a feature called "Your Algorithm" that lets people directly shape what appears in their feed. Users can add and manage topics they care about, answer prompts about why they liked or disliked a recommended post, and type in their own words what they want to see more or less of. The system blends these explicit inputs with familiar signals such as likes, comments and watch time.

For sports social teams, this shifts the balance away from pure engagement bait. If a fan tells Facebook they are not interested in a certain type of content, optimising it harder will not help. Topic relevance matters more, so clubs and leagues should make sure their posts are clearly tied to recognisable themes fans would actively choose, like their team, competition, players or specific sport.
